All of our firewood racks are made of steel and built to withstand a full load (and more) of firewood. We work with a manufacturer to produce/ship these items. Assembly is required. The 1/4 cord rack is the only one that comes with a cover. Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this firewood seasoned or kiln-dried?
Yes, it's seasoned, not kiln-dried. J&J's firewood is cut from semi-seasoned logs and stored for at least 2 months prior to being sold. Our professionally refined wood is designed to last longer and burn hotter. Don't burn your wallet on junk wood from a factory. Buy local, dry, firewood that'll burn all night.
2. How big is your firewood?
Our wood ranges in size from 12"-24" long, and about 5"-7" in diameter. Corporate crap can be much smaller and scraps from construction sites. Our wood is straight from the tree.
3. How do I know when my order will be delivered?
If you don't choose same-day delivery, we'll be there within 1-3 days guaranteed. If there's anything that may prevent that, we'll get in touch with you.
4. What species of wood will I get (birch, oak, maple, etc.)?
We cannot guarantee specific species of trees for your fire. Our wood can be any combination of Northern Red Oak, White Birch, White Oak, American Beech, and other trees native to Long Island and the Catskill Mountains - but it always burns hot and bright.
5. How is the wood packaged / shipped?
J&J's firewood bundles are tied with twine and delivered right to your doorstep by us personally. No corporates, no delays, no b.s. Kindling packages are made with wood chips and paper bags, tied with twine. Just throw the whole thing in and watch your fire roar.
6. Can this wood be used for cooking or smoking food?
Just as our forefathers cooked their steaks over an open fire, we encourage you to do the same. We've been cooking hot dogs over our campfires for generations, but we always advise caution before cooking your food the old fashioned way. Significant amounts of mold in firewood can cause health issues.
7. Does the wood produce a lot of smoke or sparks?
Different types of firewood can produce different amounts of smoke and sparks. Softwoods like pine and fir can lead to more smoke / sparks, but we generally don't take these for our supplies. J&J's specialty hardwoods (oak and maple) produce less smoke and are better for a hotter, more consistent burn.
8. Is the wood pest-free / clean?
Our firewood is mostly pest and mold free. We store the logs inside, in a clean and dry place. We cannot guarantee pest-free if the wood sits outside after delivery. We avoid using pesticides on our trees, and promise that all the wood we use is dry and clean.
9. How should I store the wood to maintain quality?
A warm, dry, place with a little bit of ventilation is your best bet.
10. Is the firewood suitable for indoor and outdoor fireplaces?

When dad decided to cut some of them down, we suddenly found ourselves with more wood than we knew what to do with. At first, we thought we'd get a good workout in and chop some wood for our family fires.

For decorations, passion projects, or just a good workout - our uncut logs are sourced locally and delivered with care. While we can't guarantee a specific species for your uncut logs, feel free to contact us and we can send you photos of what we have for sale. We're happy to take off any bark and can deliver up to 1/4 cord at a time.
